611 Al Salaam Road
The Al Salam Road project contributed to the construction of more than one point of entry to the northern part of Sangin Valley and provided significant employment opportunities in the region. Moreover, the project sought to improve energy and water distribution across the Helmand River, and connected the isolated community in Kajaki with Sangin, Gereshk and Lashkargah resulting in sustained security, stability and economic benefits. The project also included the construction of a 39-km road equipped with rainwater drainage systems, safety features and road signs.
