Abu Dhabi Fund for Development provided an AED 51.4 million financing to build a 1.5MW waste-to-energy plant in the Maldives. The power station has reduced the country’s reliance on fossil fuel, thus enabling the island nation to save on state budget and use the excess fund for socioeconomic development.
