The Abu Dhabi Fund for Development (ADFD) pursues an active agenda in promoting social and economic development across the world. As part of this priority, ADFD has adopted a multi-pronged mandate in corporate social responsibility (CSR) that involves the support of charitable, educational and social causes and organisations in the UAE.


Funding conditions

Articulating its status as a leading national organisation committed to the development of the UAE, ADFD’s CSR approach focuses on empowering people and building a humane society.
The Fund's CSR strategy focuses on providing financial support to national institutions and organisations working in the following fields: 

Higher Education Sector in the UAE

Education is one of the key sectors of focus for ADFD’s CSR initiatives in the UAE, where the Fund supports national educational institutions to improve the quality of education across the country. It also seeks to enhance the output of educational programmes to enable young Emirati talent to contribute effectively to the progress and prosperity of their nation. Towards this priority, ADFD provides financial contribution to a number of higher education institutions in the UAE, including:
United Arab Emirates University (UAEU)

  • Higher College of Technology (HCT)
  • Zayed University
  • Emirates National Schools
  • ADFD is also keen to collaborate with the country’s leading educational institutions across the following areas:
  • Support academic and research activities to enhance students' abilities and access to university programmes.
  • Introduce university graduates to the job opportunities offered by the Fund as well as its ideal working atmosphere that stimulates personal and professional development.

Intellectual and Social Support for People with Special Needs

ADFD provides financial support to humanitarian organizations that work for the welfare of people with special needs such as the Zayed Higher Organization for Humanitarian Care & Special Needs (ZHO). ADFD’s gesture endorses its commitment to building a better future for people with special needs and assimilating them into mainstream society.

Charity Foundations

ADFD collaborates with the UAE-based public welfare organisations, providing crucial support to their social development initiatives and empowering low-income segments within the UAE society to fulfil their real potential. Some of these institutions are:

  • Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation
  • Red Crescent Authority

Promoting creativity and volunteering among Emirati Youth:

ADFD supports various projects of the Emirates Foundation for Youth Development (Emirates Foundation) with the objective of supporting young Emiratis and enabling them to play an active role in the service of their country. Towards this priority, ADFD promotes creativity and volunteering among youth in order to develop their skills and ensure their active participation in the development of the country.

Supporting Projects of Zakat Fund

ADFD offers financial contributions to the Zakat Fund to strengthen its resources and support charitable and social activities within the UAE. This involves providing assistance to needy families and meeting the needs of widows, orphans and other vulnerable sections of the society.

The Website collects two categories of information, General Information.
