ADFD Recognises Employees for 2018 Achievements

As part of an annual internal gathering, Abu Dhabi Fund for Development (ADFD), the leading national entity for international development aid, recognised the 2018 winners of the third cycle of the Internal Excellence Award, staff proposals that enhanced the working environment at the Fund, as well as outstanding employees for their achievements.
In line with the Abu Dhabi government’s strategy to promote excellence across government and public sector institutions in the emirate, ADFD confirmed that it has continued to empower its employees, encourage innovation and creativity among staff with a view to increasing productivity and team work.
The winners were announced by His Excellency Mohammed Saif Al Suwaidi, Director General of ADFD at the ceremony that drew the participation of His Excellency Khalifa Al Qubaisi, Deputy Director General of ADFD, heads of departments, and employees of Abu Dhabi Fund for Development.
His Excellency Al Suwaidi distributed the honorary plaques and certificates of appreciation to all winners. Addressing employees in his opening remarks, His Excellency Mohammed Saif Al Suwaidi, said: “The Fund’s achievements over the years are a result of the guidance of the UAE’s visionary leadership, including the UAE President, His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, as well as the close counsel of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Presidential Affairs and Chairman of ADFD’s Board of Directors.”
“I would like to take this opportunity to recognise all of ADFD’s employees for their dedicated and notable efforts in achieving the Fund's development objectives, as well as achieving excellence at the local and international levels.”
He added: “With active projects that it supports in more than 88 countries around the world, Abu Dhabi Fund for Development has played a vital role in contributing to the UAE’s leading position in supporting sustainable development globally. In doing so, it has facilitated the nation in retaining its title of the ‘Top World Aid Donor’ in the field of official development assistance.
“Looking ahead, we will continue to focus on development projects in key sectors in line with the priorities of beneficiary countries, always ensuring international best practices while doing so. We also aim to expand our core operations and contribute to economic development within the UAE.”
Since its inception in 1971, ADFD has financed thousands of development projects worth approximately AED84 billion in 88 beneficiary countries. Mandated to implement Abu Dhabi government’s development programme policies, the Fund provides concessionary loans, manages Abu Dhabi government grants and injects direct long-term investments with the aim of driving economic development in partner countries.
