ADFD Celebrates 47th UAE National Day

Abu Dhabi Fund for Development (ADFD), the leading national entity for development aid, commemorated the 47th UAE National Day with a series of activities that paid tribute to the many achievements of the founding father of the UAE, late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, and reflected the country’s rich heritage and values.

On the occasion, His Excellency Mohammed Saif Al Suwaidi, Director General of ADFD, congratulated the UAE President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and Their Highnesses Members of the Federal Supreme Council.

ADFD employees and their families enjoyed traditional Emirati activities including food, dance, as well as friendly and team building competitions.

Addressing the attendees on the occasion, His Excellency Mohammed Saif Al Suwaidi said: “Every year the UAE marks new milestones and expands its ambitions for a brighter tomorrow for all its people. 2018 was no different – together as a nation we celebrated several successes, from the launch of KhalifaSat to the inauguration of the Sustainable Development Goals Center of Excellence for the Arab Region in Abu Dhabi.”

He added: “On this special occasion, let us remember our accomplishments and renew our commitment to continue on our journey of tolerance, excellence, inclusion and peace.”
