Overview

Power projects in developing countries, including Egypt, have been an area of emphasis for ADFD from the beginning, as electricity is essential for stimulating economic and social growth. It is an indispensable element of all commercial, industrial and service activities, and one of the pillars of public welfare. ADFD offered a loan of AED 128 million to finance the project of the Abi Qair power plant, meant to secure power supply for factories and new facilities in the industrial zones of Alexandria and Abi Qair. This has contributed to increased productivity in the industrial sector. The project included the establishment of a plant for generating electricity using vapor. The plant has two vapor turbines, with a capacity of 30 MW, in addition to two units for vapor generation using natural gas produced in the Abu Madi gas field in the North Delta. The project also included providing the plant with all necessary services.
