Overview

Industry and agriculture form key sectors which development plans in Tunisia rely upon, in order to diversify its economic structure to contribute to achieving sustainable development and provide more jobs for growing numbers of people who join the labor market every year. ADFD was keen to support these efforts by providing a soft loan worth AED218.5 million to help finance the establishing of a phosphate fertilizer plant, which gave a strong boost to the industrial sector and provided adequate supply of bio-fertilizers needed for the development of the agricultural sector in the country. The project included the establishment of two plants for the production of sulfuric acid with a capacity of 3,000 tons per day, two plants for the production of phosphorus with a capacity of 1,000 tons per day, and a factory for the production of double fertilizers with a production capacity of 1,000 tons per day, along with the plant facilities, such as administrative buildings, warehouses and others
