Overview
To enhance infrastructure in Mauritania and boost the effectiveness of its transportation routes and services, the Fund fully financed the Kiffa-Alnuma Road project in 1979.
Through linking the two cities, the road facilitated the movement of people and goods, increasing nationwide and cross-border trade.
The project entailed the construction of a 486-kilometre asphalt road between the cities of Kiffa and Alnuma, in addition to supplementary facilities including water pipes and bridges.
