Overview

The transportation sector is crucial to the growth and prosperity of any country's economy through facilitating the movement of people and goods, as well as linking production, consumption, export and import hubs locally and regionally. To meet Mali’s development objectives and provide access to bodies of water for the landlocked country, ADFD financed the strategic Sevare-Gao Road project in 1981. The scope included the construction of a 556 kilometres long and six metres wide asphalt road, as well as three reinforced concrete bridges.
