Overview
Rural areas often suffer from scarce clean water supply and lack of proper infrastructure to provide access to water sources. To ensure adequate water supply in Tanzania, ADFD financed a rural water project in Zanzibar that has provided a reliable source of drinking water for seven villages on two islands. In addition, it has improved the standard of living and the health of the local population.
Works included digging wells, building reservoirs and pumping stations to supply the villages with water, and providing consultancy services for the design and implementation of projects.
