Overview

Abu Dhabi Fund for Development contributed to the establishment of Al-Wehda Dam which aimed to provide drinking and irrigation water. The dam has had a key impact in reducing drinking water shortage and improving the well-being of the area. Al-Wehda Dam is 76 meters high and can contain up to 110 million cubic meters of water. It has a 250 meter wide spillway in addition to water mains, transporting lines, injection tunnel, and a conversion tunnel to store flood water of the Yarmouk River and use it to irrigate 30,000 donums of land as well as provide 50 million cubic meters of drinking water.
