Overview
Given the vital importance of agriculture in improving the living standards of people in developing countries as well as their overall economic performance, ADFD prioritizes supporting this sector.
The Fund seeks to enable these countries to increase the contribution of agricultural resources in terms of GDP and employment creation. One such project financed by the Fund in this regard is phase 1 of Irrigated Agriculture Development Project in Serbia.
The project involves the reclamation of 13 agricultural sites with a total area of 24,000 hectares of agricultural land in the province of Vivodena in Serbia.
The project involves the construction of pumping stations and canals as well as installation of hydro-mechanical, electrical and irrigation equipment.
