Overview
The project developed the transport sector particularly Mazar-e Sharif International Airport. It included the establishment of a new runway to serve international flights capable of accommodating large aircrafts such as; Airbus 300 and Boeing 747, and the rehabilitation and overhaul of the old runway, passages to link both runways, as well as aircraft parking bays. Moreover, the project included the construction of a new passenger terminal, rehabilitation of the old terminal and supplementing the air control tower with navigation devices.
