Overview
With a combined generating capacity
of 525 kW, the three microgrid solar
power plants on Kadavu, Lakeba and
Rotuma islands meet nearly half of the
electricity needs of the islands as well
as 90 per cent of additional grid demand
during peak hours.
The project has increased the availability
of electricity from a previous
range of 12 to18 hours per day to 24-
hour access while saving 259,000 litres
of diesel per year.
