ADFD Celebrates 48th UAE National Day

Abu Dhabi Fund for Development (ADFD), the leading national entity for economic development aid, celebrated the 48th UAE National Day with a series of activities that paid tribute to the many achievements of the founding father of the UAE, late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, and reflected the country’s rich heritage and values.

On the occasion, His Excellency Mohammed Saif Al Suwaidi, Director General of ADFD, congratulated the UAE President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and Their Highnesses Members of the Federal Supreme Council.

ADFD employees and their families enjoyed traditional Emirati entertainment and dance performances, authentic Emirati cuisine, and friendly team building competitions.

Speaking on the occasion, His Excellency Mohammed Saif Al Suwaidi said: “Year-on-year, the UAE marks new milestones and achievements. 2019 was no different, together as a nation we continued our journey of tolerance instilled in our social fabric by our founding fathers.”

He added: “The Fund is proud to play a role in spreading the UAE’s message of tolerance abroad. To date, we have supported sustainable development in 95 countries to the tune of AED92 billion through concessionary loans, government grants, and investments.”

Established in 1971, ADFD celebrated its 47th anniversary on 15 July 2017.
