Overview

This project aims to provide Sheikh Zayed City, 38 km to the west of Downtown Cairo and located between Cairo- Alexandria Road and The 6th of October City, with infrastructure, utilities, particularly potable water, and service facilities. Sheikh Zayed City has emerged as a unique model of the wise leadership of the UAE, which helps friendly nations, particularly Arab ones, and effectively participates in supporting development and enhancing the life of their people. This city was built as per the instructions of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan al Nahyan, within the framework of his continuous support to Egypt.     The project of this city includes facilities and buildings of public services, as well as potable water. It covers the following elements: a) Providing the city with water: establishing a water supply system from water intakes on Al Buhairi’s Drain and Siphon that carry water to the pumping stations and two pumping lines with 1800 Millimeters each and 19 Kilometers length as well as a water purification station with a power of 5200 per second. b) The Sheikh Zayed City Hospital Project: building a hospital in Sheikh Zayed City with a capacity of 200 beds, and provided with all the modern medical disciplines including nuclear radiotherapy department.   c) Constructing service buildings: the project consists of two mosques and a high school for girls and another one for boys as well as an industrial high school and a trade high school with 5 elementary schools and two other Azhari Institutes (religious institutes that belong to Al Azhar University d) Complementary projects: An irrigation network inside Sheikh Zayed City and administrative headquarters.
