Overview
The Moroccan government is very keen on developing the agricultural sector due to its important contribution to the development of the country. The government utilized ADFD’s loan to develop the Al-Haouz Agricultural Area and further utilize arable lands to provide job opportunities for residents.
The project aimed to elevate people’s lifestyle in the area through increasing agricultural production. It also increased the production of hydroelectricity and provided drinking water to the city of Marrakesh.
The project included building two dams in addition to civil works in the irrigation network. It also provided mechanical, electrical and civil equipment to construct a power plant.
